A 19-year-old DC resident was sentenced to 30 months in prison after admitting in federal court that he threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend, according to the Department of Justice.

Prosecutors said that the teen was in a relationship with a fellow high school student that came to a rocky conclusion in March 2022. Then things got rockier for the spurned psycho.

Following their break-up, federal officials said that between March 2022 and June 2022, the petulant teen pestered his ex - who was 17 years old at the time - with a series of text messages threatening her life.

The teen planned a murder-suicide, according to investigators, threatening to kill himself after offing his ex, stating that “if he could not have her, no one would.”

That was only the beginning.

After making threats to her life, prosecutors say that the teen proceeded to send sexually explicit videos of his ex-girlfriend to her mother, a co-worker, and at least one of her friends, prompting the family to obtain an order of protection defending her from him.

The teen was arrested in June 2022 and has been in custody since.

In addition to the prison term, a judge also ordered that the teen serve three years of supervised release and issued a new order to stay away from the victim.

“Healthy relationships are important for everyone, especially for teenagers,” prosecutors advised. “Healthy relationships are ones where adolescents can safely feel and express respect for themselves and others.”
